Wizz Air orders twelve Airbus aircraft

Low-cost airline Wizz Air said yesterday that it will buy twelve Airbus 180-seater A320 and A319 aircraft with an option to purchase twelve more. The entire contract is worth USD 1.4 billion. The aircraft will be outfitted with V2500-A5 engines from International Aero Engines. Wizz Air, owned by Hungarian investors, said it must expand its fleet to meet increasing demand. The first deliveries are for mid 2007.
