Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air carried its two millionth passenger on Wednesday, just 17 months after it started operating; and the airline will need half that time to carry its next 2 million passengers, CEO József Váradi said at the ceremony to mark the event. It took Wizz Air a little less than a year to carry its one millionth passenger, and just six months to carry its two millionth passenger, Váradi noted. Wizz Air expects to expand its passenger capacity 25% in winter, with the delivery of its first new Airbus 320. Wizz Air signed a contract early September with Airbus for the delivery of twelve A320 and A319 aircraft, with an option for twelve more.
