Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world's largest retailer, will buy Louis Delhaize SA's seven Hungarian Cora hypermarkets October 1, daily Népszabadság reported today. Wal-Mart is preparing changes at the hypermarket chain, the newspaper said, citing Cora employees. Delhaize officials declined to comment. Hungary's Cora stores had sales of Ft 110 billion ($544 million) last year. The chain competes with Tesco Plc and France's Auchan SA in Hungary.
