Two companies plan to set up DVD rental machines

Filmbank Hungary Kft and Masterful Kft are planning to set up DVD rental machines throughout Hungary, challenging the market dominance of traditional movie rental, business newspaper Világgazdaság reported. The companies are seeking to sell the machines and operate them for a service fee. The apparatuses cost Ft 7 million each and store a maximum of 1,100 DVD?s. Filmbank has already sold two machines, which are set up in Budapest. Both companies expect a boom in the automated video rental market, with plans to sell 50 machines this year. According to a Filmbank representative, the new service will become widespread in less than five years.
