Trade gap closes sharply

Hungary's foreign trade deficit in May was sharply lower compared to April and the previous year – Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported. The trade gap contracted from euro 380 million in April and euro 328.3 million a year earlier. The trade deficit was euro 1,081.3 billion in the first five months of 2005, euro 951.7 million lower than the same period a year earlier. Exports rose by 11.6 % to 3.98 billion euros while imports grew by 5.6 % to 4.11 billion euros.
