Hungary's foreign trade deficit in August was Euro 386 million, Euro 48 million more than the same month in 2004, according to preliminary figures announced by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Friday. Exports rose 16.7% year-on-year to Euro 3.784 billion, and August imports increased 16.5% to Euro 4.17 billion. The preliminary deficit in the first eight months stood at Euro 1.881 billion, down Euro 1.06 billion from the same period of 2004. (MTI; NG 4)
