TPG Group, which is listed at the Amsterdam stock exchange, will change its name to match that of its express mail subsidiary TNT as of April. TPG has three major units, including the Dutch national postal service (TPG Post) with its subsidiaries, express mail company TNT Express Worldwide and the group?s logistics arm TNT Logistics. The final decision on the name change, which will take place at April?s shareholder meeting, will mostly affect TPG Post, which is also active in eight other European countries in addition to the Netherlands. The company had been known as PTT until 1998 when it acquired the TNT Group and changed its name to TPG (?TNT Post Group?). The changes will not affect TNT Express Worldwide Hungary Kft, the Hungarian subsidiary, which will retain its current name and image.
