Tourism development for Ft 1,000 bln

The total sum required for the nine-year scheme of National Tourism Development Strategy (NTS) is Ft 1,000 billion, daily Világgazdaság reported. According to the draft, Hungarian tourism has a growth potential in health, heritage and congress tourism. Ft 926.9 billion is the exact amount that is to be spent on the targets aimed in NTS by 2013. The government draft is to be prepared soon, NTS will be discussed by the National Regional Development Council on Thursday. A subsidy of Ft 185 billion is expected from the European Union between 2005 and 2013 to realise to goals of NTS, Világgazdaság reported. The Ft 1,000 billion sum does not include the public transportation and road construction costs that are necessary to make NTS successful.
