TechCon to build Ft 6 billion scrap tire power plant

TechCon Kft said it is planning to build a 40-45 GWh power plant in Polgár, eastern Hungary, that would utilize waste tires for fuel, business daily Világgazdaság reported. The investment, valued at approximately Ft 6-7 billion, is slated for completion by the end of 2006. The company said it would also implement a capital raise and take out a loan to finance the project. The plant will use modern environmental friendly technology commonly used in countries like Germany, Italy and France and will be capable to process as much as 20% of the scrap tires produced in Hungary.
