Szeged builds airport

A new international regional airport will open in Szeged, S Hungary, in April 2006, seen as an important contribution to the much-needed improvement of the city's transportation network, the mayor said on Saturday. The Ft 1.5 billion airport development, which will include a 1,185 meter by 30 meter runway, will be financed from the central budget and from local and regional government sources, László Botka said. The airport will be operated by the local council-owned Szeged Transport company. (MTI; Nv 5, MH 10)
