Synergon named new regional director

Synergon Rt., the biggest Hungarian computer-services company, named Péter Andreidész-Kovács as its regional director, a brand new post in charge of overseeing the company's push into east European markets, the company said in a statement on the stock exchange's web site. Andreidész-Kovács previously worked as chief financial officer at the local unit of Deutsche Post AG's DHL package-delivery business. Chief Executive Ferenc Czakó, who co-founded Synergon in 1990, said in a June 9 interview he wants to buy rivals in neighboring Slovakia and Romania without giving details. Synergon, which
distributes products of companies by Microsoft Corp. and Cisco
Systems Inc., already has units in the Czech Republic and Croatia. Synergon shares rose Ft 3, or 0.5%, to Ft 643 today.
