A total of Ft 14.8 billion has been awarded to 114 municipalities to improve their public transportation network, business daily Világgazdaság reported. 120 local governments have applied originally, 6 of them however, did not meet the criteria necessary for the application, explained Finance Ministry advisor Zsolt Denke. Over 75% of this year's budget has been granted to Budapest's BKV Rt, nearly Ft 12 billion, because that is where the capacity/kilometer ratio proves the highest. The next in line is Miskolc with Ft 601 million, followed by Szeged and Debrecen, with a sum of Ft 429 million and Ft 427 million, respectively.
