German-owned construction company Strabag Rt looks set to pick Királyegyháza, south Hungary as the location for its largest-to-be cement plant in Central Europe, according to business daily Napi Gazdaság. While it would neither confirm nor deny the paper's information, Strabag said Királyegyháza was a strong contestant for the Ft 26 billion investment. The village, located west of Pécs, could beat Bükkösd and Kővágószőlős the two other likely candidates, to it with its vicinity to the planned M6 motorway and its unanimous support for the project. Strabag said it would select a location by the end of this year at the latest in order to complete the investment, according to schedule, by 2009.
