Hungary's public sector deficit came in at Ft 63 billion in September, the Finance Ministry announced on Thursday. The ministry's forecast was Ft 93.1 billion, but it was made before the government sharply revised its deficit target upwards for both 2005 and 2006 last week.
Last week, the ministry upped its cash-flow based public sector deficit target to Ft 1,080 billion from Ft 1,022.6 billion for this year. In the new figure, they already calculated with part of the revenues hoped to be booked from the sale of Budapest Airport (around Ft 350 billion).
The January-September deficit totalled Ft 1,059.5 billion, 98.1% of the revised full-year target.
