Russia?s Gazprom is interested in the remaining 11.8% state-owned stake in Hungarian oil company MOL Rt, online business journal Portfolio.hu reported, citing wire agency Reuters. Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller spoke with Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány today about the possibility of acquiring the stake, which will be offered for sale before the end of the year by the State Privatization and Holding Rt (ÁPV). ?We are looking into the possibility of an acquisition,? he said after the meeting. ?When we acquire Rosneft in June, Gazprom will be an oil company in addition to being a natural gas business.? Gazprom had shown interest in Mol?s natural gas unit as well as the 10.5% MOL stake sold last year, however it was unable to secure ownership in either of the two.
