ROP office allocates 79% of available funding

About 79% of the Ft 107 billion available in 2004-2006 under Hungary's Regional Development Operative Programme (ROP), a part of the National Development Programme, has been allocated, the office in charge of the ROP announced. By the end of July, the office had signed contracts with 215 applicants for combined funding of Ft 53.8 billion. The money will go to 36 tourism projects, 55 road development projects, 19 city renovation projects, 64 primary school projects and 41 training projects. Funding for the 11 biggest projects totals Ft 9.8 billion. The ROP is intended to assist balanced regional development with EU funding.
