Revised August trade deficit totals €385 mln

Hungary's revised August trade deficit totaled €385.4 million ($468.4 million), the Central Statistics Office said on Friday. The deficit was narrower than the €385.9 million preliminary estimate the Budapest-based office reported October 7. The shortfall was 288.6 million euros in July and €338.2 million in August last year. Exports fell to €3.79 billion from €3.89 billion in July and rose from €3.24 billion in August last year. Imports totaled €4.17 billion, compared with €4.18 billion the previous month and €3.58 billion a year earlier, the office said. The revised eight-month shortfall narrowed to €1.88 billion from €2.94 billion in the same period last year and was in-line with the first estimate.
