Retail sales volume up 5.1% yr/yr in August

Hungary's retail sales volume expanded 5.1% in August compared to the same month in 2004, according to working day data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Friday. Retail sales volume in August rose 0.4% from July, according to seasonally and working day figures. Retail sales increased in the first eight months by 4.9% year-on-year. In January-August, retail turnover was Ft 3,497 billion (EUR 13.8 bln) at current prices. In line with EU statistics, the figures do not include sales of vehicles, vehicle parts or fuel.
