Record-size dividend, new board member in Zwack

Zwack Unikum Rt proposed on its AGM to pay HUF 1,6 billion dividend to shareholders, and voted Sándor Zwack as a new member of its board today, announced Péter Kerényi communications manager on a press conference. Sándor representing the younger generation in the company will be responsible for marketing branded products. Last year Zwack?s branded liquor sales boosted by 10-15%, but non-branded liquors sales declined 7-8%. This year the enterprise will try to develop sales of its Unikum and other brands in neighboring and other 30 countries. On the other hand, due to Izabella Zwack the head of wine business unit, the company is also present in the field of wine making. Zwack tries to make publicity to native hungarian wines like Furmint. ?Think Hungary, think Furmint?, said Péter Zwack. The company is sponsoring hungarian water-polo, Fesztivál Orchestra, Experidance dancegroup, and Nox band. Hungarian distillery Zwack Unikum Rt?s pretax profit rose in Q1 yr/yr, said the company in a statement. Pretax profit grew from last year HUF 202 million to HUF 219 million in 2005. The company?s sales was boosted by 8,9%, to HUF 3,22 billion, which is claimed to Unikum liquor?s sales growth. Zwack?s 2004 income was stagnant yr/yr.
