Railway maintenance company gathers speed after streamlining project

The reorganization of MÁV Debreceni Járm?javító Kft, a repair and maintenance subsidiary of the state railway company, helped the troubled company cut costs by Ft 200 million. In cooperation with the parent company, the management embarked on the streamlining project in July 2004 to save it from insolvency and loss of market positions, with MÁV covering the restructuring costs. In 2004, the company reduced its 2003 Ft 421 million negative profit by Ft 200 million. During the year it even won public tenders, through which it has become a supplier to Dunavagon Kft and the national railrway companies of Austria and Switzerland. The company has been a Mol Rt supplier for several years.
