Rahimkulov heads list of 150 richest

With an estimated fortune of Ft 83 billion (Euro 332m), Russian AEB Bank chairman Medget Rahimkulov heads the 2005 list of Hungary's 150 richest people, according to an article published yesterday in Népszabadság. For the first time, this year's Népszabadság prosperity ranking includes foreigners living in Hungary, thus placing Rahimkulov, who has lived in the country for 11 years, ahead of the CEO of OTP Bank Rt, Sándor Csányi, whose estimated wealth of Ft 60 billion earned him second place on the fortune 150 list. Construction magnate Sándor Demján, worth an estimated Ft 50 billion and Fotex Rt chairman Gábor Várszegi, with an estimated nest egg of Ft 48 billion ranked third and fourth.
