Provimi buys pet food maker Pet-Hungaria

French pet food maker Provimi, a member of the Erdania Beghin-Say group, has
purchased Pet-Hungaria, which makes the leading brand of Hungarian pet food, Provimi announced. Provimi did not disclose the purchase price, but said it was paying for Pet-Hungaria with its own resources.
Pet-Hungaria had revenue of Ft 7.75 bln last year. The company employs 350 people and has assets of Ft 1.7 bln. Pet-Hungaria is Provimi's third purchase in the region in a little more than a year: it bought Slovakia's Nama in October 2004
and Poland's Ben in February 2005. Provimi has altogether 11 pet food plants in Holland, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and now Hungary. The companies export to almost all countries in Europe. Provimi had revenue of 1.6 bln last year. The company has 100 factories in 30 countries.
