Industrial production increased by 7.9% compared to international standards in November, 2004 and construction industry was also more active mainly due to road constructions ? the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported. The total crop production of 2004 was the double of production in 2003. There was less agricultural animal livestock on December 1 with the exception of sheep, compared to the figure a year before. Retail trade grew by 4.6% less than in October. Yet, the total sum of foreign trade deficit increased 16% compared to data a year before. The current account deficit and the deficit of the budget (calculated without municipalities) increased considerably and reached Ft 1,300 billion, which is Ft 226 billion more than a year earlier. The number of unemployed people increased by 29,000 in recent months. The number of persons with employment declined by 57,000. The annual growth of consumer prices surpassed that of 2003, but it was less in December. Real wages dropped by 0.5% compared to the same period of 2003. The industrial output of the EU-25 countries became slower in November, according to data without the effect of working days and according to partially estimated data it was only 0.6% higher than in the same period of last year. As for old EU members, this figure was as low as 0.2%. The pace of growth was the second fastest following Poland among the 25 EU member states. The gross monetary property of households was 13% higher, while total debts were 37% more and within that apartment loans were similarly higher at current price at the end of September compared to the same period of last year.
