A few days after a successful strike agreement between the Budapest Public Transport Rt (BKV) and its employees, electricity industry workers are now threatening to strike if wage talks yield no results by the end of February, President of the Electricity Industry Trade Union Rezs? Gál told wire agency MTI. The workers are demanding an 8% raise with retroactive effect to Jan. 1, or 6.5% now and 2.5% at the end of the year if targets are met. The employers' offer is 6.5%.
