All of the four major polling institutes reported declining nationwide support for Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány and his government in March, broadsheet Népszava reported. The pollsters also agreed that Fidesz was more popular than the Socialists, with a difference of 0?9 percentage points between the two. However, while the joint survey of Tárki and Századvég, as well as that of the Gallup Institute, reported a narrowing gap between the major political forces, Szonda Ipsos perceived no change from the previous month, and Medián?s figures showed that the gap was growing. The recently rebranded SzDSz ? Hungarian Liberal Party and MDF ? Hungarian Conservative Party have the support of 2%-4% and 1%-2% of the adult population, respectively.
