Police investigate MP's fatal hunting accident

Police launched investigation into the fatal hunting accident that claimed the life of Socialist MP Árpád Urbán near Balassagyarmat, north Hungary on Saturday, police said on Monday. Urbán, 63, died when his brother accidentally shot him near the heart while pursuing a wild boar. He was rushed to intensive care but died in hospital. The alcohol test carried out on the scene of the accident proved to be negative but the result of the blood test will only become available some weeks later, police spokesman Ottó Kaszás said. At the request of the family, police will release no further details, he said.
Urbán had been a member of the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) since 1989. He was a member of the education and sports committees.
