Europe cannot be successful without a secure, peaceful and developing Balkans, Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány said on Tuesday, addressing a forum of foreign
ministers in Budapest. The prime minister expressed support for the European integration of countries in the West Balkans, and said that states in a regional partnership -- Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Austria and Slovenia, all represented at the conference -- had to take joint responsibility for the West Balkans, and define "actual steps, activities, deadlines and facilitators" to the
region's benefit. Foreign ministers of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia,
Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro are also attending the Budapest forum.
