PM opens Hungarian Cultural Institute in New York

Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány opened the new Hungarian Cultural Institute in New York on the first day of his five-day official visit to the United States on Wednesday evening, local time. The institute, previously housed by the Hungarian Consulate, now has its own facility in south-Manhattan's artists' district, Soho. The 470 sqm cultural centre occupying a fifth-floor hall will mainly host literary evenings and chamber concerts from the institute's planned series of programs.
