PM meets UN secretary-general

Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány and UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan met in New York on Wednesday to exchange views on the reform of the United Nations as well as UN and European Union plans to resolve the situation in Kosovo and the Balkans. New York is the first leg of the prime minister's four-day visit to the United States. After the meeting, Foreign Minister Ferenc Somogyi quoted Gyurcsány as saying that Hungary supports reforming the United Nations as a step towards effective multilateralism.
