Oil companies dominate top of Fortune 500 list

Fortune magazine has published this year?s list of top 500 the world?s largest corporations. The lowest ranking company had $12.4 billion sales revenue, which is 15% more than the turnover of last year?s No. 500. Retail giant Wal-Mart moved back up to the top of the chart. The top ten is dominated by five US companies, in addition to four European and one Asian ones. China is represented on Fortune 500 by 16 corporations, up from 15 last year, while India increased its presence from 4 to 5. Oil companies saw the highest growth rate, followed closely by the automotive industry.
