The price at which the Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM) guarantees to purchase electricity generated with renewable resources, such as wind power, should rise from Ft 19-19.50 to Ft 25 per kWh with retroactive effect from September 1, as soon as amendments to the Electricity Act are approved by Parliament, national daily Népszabadság reported. Parliament is expected to approve the measures on October 1. After the increase takes effect, prices for electricity produced using renewable resources will rise along with the rate of inflation.
