MSZP to nominate Gyurcsány PM candidate in 2006 elections

The senior governing Socialist Party (MSZP) will nominate incumbent Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány as its candidate for PM in the general elections of 2006, party chairman István Hiller said in a public TV programme on Wednesday. The Socialist Party reckons that Gyurcsány, who chairs the country's election committee and is the incumbent PM of the governing coalition is going to be the party's candidate for the prime ministerial position, Hiller said in TV program Napkelte. He added that MSZP wants to carry on the successful performance of the first Gyurcsány administration in the second Gyurcsány government after the elections.
