Mol to cut wholesale fuel prices

Hungarian oil and gas company Mol will cut the wholesale price of petrol and diesel by a respective Ft 4 and Ft 3 from Thursday, national daily Népszabadság reported. The price reduction should bring the retail per-litre price of 95 octane petrol under Ft 290, that of 98 octane petrol under Ft 300, and the price of diesel to Ft 270. Although fuel prices have fallen on the global market, Mol may have chosen not to lower its own prices, according to industry insiders. The expected reduction on Thursday may show Mol heeded a request by the Prime Minister to show restraint when calculating its margins. Mol, however, denies it complies with any such requests.
