Sunday, September 25, 2005, 00:00
According to press information, Hungarian Railways MÁV Rt plans to lay off several deputy CEOs following the dismissal of CEO Zoltán Mándoki last week. MÁV will hold an extraordinary board meeting today, where personnel decisions may be taken. The moves may affect human policy head Flórián Kugler, but as Kugler is to retire at the end of the year he may not be affected by the lay offs. Other managers whose positions are in question are: project manager Tibor Gulyás, chief director Gusztáv Lékai and communications manager Andrea Stromajer. As each deputy CEO is entitled to a compensation of six months' salary, MÁV may have to pay out a total Ft 150 million. (Nb 1, Nv 4) M.K.
