If the tender on suburban trains will not close by September 13th, the Hungarian Railways (MÁV Rt) will have to face serious expenses, business daily Napi Gazdaság said. If the new trains cannot be purchased soon, the towing and the special maintenance of the old wagons are expected to cost an extra Ft 120 million, which, on a yearly basis, may result in a loss of Ft 1.5 billion. The Public Procurement Arbitration Committee will announce the results of the suburban train tender, worth over Ft 100 billion, tomorrow. If the committee decides to re-output the tender, the arrival of the new trains may be much delayed.
