KSH raises 2004 GDP figure to 4.6%

The Central Statistics Office (KSH) raised its figure for GDP growth in 2004 from 4.2% to 4.6% to reflect new methodology required by the EU, KSH said on its website. Under the new methodology, GDP grew 3.4% in 2003 compared to 2.9% as published earlier. Last year Hungary's GDP at current prices was Ft 20,413 billion. Per capita GDP was Ft 2.020 mln. Adjusted to reflect purchasing power parity, this translates to Euro 13,725 or 61% of the average of the EU-25, according to preliminary calculations by Eurostat. Hungary's gross national income (GNI) was Ft 19,273 billion at current prices, a 3.9% increase from 2003. (Econews; MH 12, Nv 5)
