KDB drops one procedure in MÁV tender appeal

Hungary's Public Procurement Arbitration Board (KDB) announced on Tuesday that it has cancelled a procedure, started on a complaint by five of the board's own members, regarding a rail vehicle tender called by Hungary's national railway company MÁV Rt. The procedure was cancelled because the five members who filed the complaint later withdrew it, the board said. The complaint, which contained a request to review a July 4 board resolution annulling results of the tender announced June 1, was no longer necessary, because the board decided in the meantime to consider an appeal by Canada's Bombardier to review the results of a second tender for the same vehicles announced on August 4. Switzerland's Stadler was declared the winner of both tenders.
