Károly körút ?bazaar? demolition starts at last

The demolition of the buildings known as the ?bazaar row? on Károly körút will be kicked off tomorrow by Budapest Mayor Gábor Demszky and Dist. 5 Mayor Pál Steiner. The neon lights from the 1960s and 1970s that adorn the buildings will be removed and handed over to the Hungarian Electrotechnology Museum, in line with a decision of a Budapest City Council committee. The final nod to pull down the buildings came after years of discussions and a lengthy tendering process.
