To date, ten companies have bought the documentation for the Budapest metro train procurement tender, said László Gulyás, head of the DBR Metro Project Directorate to business daily Világgazdaság. The deadline for the first round is August 16. Back in spring the Budapest municipality decided to buy trains both for line 4 and line 2 through the same tender. 88 carriages are needed for metro 4 and 110 new carriages to replace the ones currently plying. In September the participation offers are to be submitted for the tender on railway systems and electricity supply. The tender invited for the three stations in Buda also has its first deadline in September and documentations were bought by 14 companies.
