Hungary's industrial output rose 10% in May from a year earlier, according to work-day-adjusted figures, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported. The increase was driven by an adjusted 13% rise in domestic sales. Work-day-adjusted export sales volume rose 7.3% yr/yr, while unadjusted figures show industrial output up 12.9%. KSH revised downwards the monthly growth of industrial production to 1.4%, according to seasonally- and working day-adjusted figures, from the preliminary figure 3.1%. Domestic sales rose 3.3% in May while exports fell 1.2%. In the first five months of this year, industrial output was 5.4% higher than in the same period last year. The figure is unchanged from that contained in the preliminary report. Five-month export volume rose 6.3% and domestic sales volume was up 5.1%. Hungary's industrial output rose 8.3% in 2004 and increased 6.4% in 2003.
