Industrial export boom in April

In April 2005 the industrial gross output increased by 8.9% related to April 2004, Central Statistics Office reported. The volume of the production was higher by 3.6% in the first four months of 2005 than in the same period of the previous year. The volume of industrial production in April ? according to seasonally and by working-day adjusted indices ? was above the level of the previous month by 3.1%. The industrial export sales grew by 5.1% in the first four months of 2005 and increased by 13.4% in April related to the previous year. Two manufacturing subsections gave almost two-thirds of the exportachievement of the year. In the first four months the greatest exporter − representing about 40% of the export of manufacturing − the manufacture of electrical and optical equipment increased the export volume by 7.5%. The export volume of transport equipment − the other significant subsection, representing almost a quarter of the export sales of manufacturing − rose by 6.4%. In January-April the domestic sales increased by 3.2% compared to the same period of the previous year. In April 2005 the total new orders of observed branches of manufacturing increased very significantly, by 57.4% related to the same period of the previous year. The volume of new export orders grew by 64%, while that of new domestic orders by 29.2%. At the same time the volume of total stock of orders rose by8.3% compared to the same month of the previous year.
