Budapest's chief of police told the municipal assembly yesterday evening that the city had become one of the safest in Europe this past year. Addressing the start of a two-day meeting of the Budapest Assembly, chief Péter Gergenyi reported that break-ins to residences were down by 32%, he said, while the ratio of investigations concluded successfully was up from last year's 44% to 52%.
