The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) closed its one-week inspection at the Paks Nuclear Plant Rt with highly satisfactory results, company spokesman István Mittler said. The aim of the technical inspection was to establish the extent to which the power plant followed the recommendations made by IAEA?s operation safety review group after a similar audit in 2001 and after 2003?s shutdown of one of the reactors. The specialist team checked the condition of the plant?s technical equipment, reviewed the operation documents and regulations, and collected additional information though interviews with employees. According to the inspection report, 71% of IAEA?s 80 recommendations have been implemented, and the management has taken adequate measures to meet all of the suggested operation safety requirements.
