Hungary won't support EU farm reforms yet

Hungary will not be able to support EU agricultural reforms until direct farm subsidies for old and new members are equalized, the farm minister told a European Parliament (EP) delegation in Lajosmizse, a farming area just south of Budapest, yesterday. József Graf, speaking to a 10-member delegation from the agriculture committee of the EP, declined to support the British position calling for reduced farm supports, saying that Hungary had been stunned by the idea.
