The majority of Hungarians are not planning a holiday this summer, market research company GfK Hungária found in its 2005 report on traveling habits. According to the survey, most of those traveling abroad will choose Croatia, but destinations in Hungary are also popular. However, nearly 50% of Hungarians are not planning to take vacation days at all. Approximately 20% of the participants will be spending their summer at home, while the majority are planning a beach holiday, with Lake Balaton, Lake Velencei and the Tisza Lake featuring among the most desirable destinations. 16% of those in the sample said they were planning a vacation in Croatia within the next 12 months, with Greece (6%), Italy (5%) and Spain (3%) ranked below. 1.4% of the participants will go on holiday outside Europe.
