U.S.-based Genentech, a global leader in the biotech industry, signed an agreement with Vichem Kft, a Hungarian research company specializing in the enzymes responsible for communication between cells, business daily Világgazdaság reported. The contract allows Genentech to use Vichem?s library containing the description of some 11,000 molecules. The American company will use the database free of charge, however it will contribute financially to its development. Moreover, as long as the database yields information that could form the basis of new product development, Genentech will include Vichem in these projects as a research partner.
