Hotel occupancy rate up at 70.4% in July

Hungary's hotels had an average occupancy rate of 70.4% in July, and guests spent 6.5% more nights in hotels than a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported. Hotels had an average occupancy rate of 57.9% in the first seven-month of this year and guests spent 5.7% more nights in hotels than in the same period a year earlier. In January-July 2004, Hungarian hotels had an average occupancy rate of 58.4% and guest nights rose 12.8% year on year. The gross average price of rooms was Ft 15,088 in July this year, up from last year’s Ft 11,863. Gross revenue per available room (revpar) was Ft 10,620 in July, 31% more than a year earlier. In January-July, the gross average room rate was Ft 15,087 and revpar was Ft 8,741. During the same period a year earlier, the gross average price of roorms was Ft 13,458 and revpar was Ft 7,860.
