Hotel occupancy rate up at 66.1% in October

The occupancy rate in Hungary's hotels was 66.1% in October, down from 74.9 % in September, while guest nights were up 4.4 % year-on-year, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said. Average occupancy was 62.5 % in the first ten months and guest nights were 6 % higher compared to the same period in 2004. The gross average room rate was Ft 17,020 ( 68.2) in October, up from Ft 15,209 a year earlier. Gross revenue per available room (RevPAR) was Ft 11,253 in October, 13.1 % up on the previous year. In January-October, the gross average room rate was Ft 15,336 and RevPAR was Ft 9,586. During the same period a year earlier, the gross average room rate was Ft 13.998 and RevPAR was Ft 8,740.
