Hotel occupancy rate 75.6% in September

Average occupancy rate in Hungarian hotels was 75.6% in September, and guests spent 10% more nights in hotels in September than a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Friday. The average occupancy rate in August was 77.2%. Hotels had an average occupancy rate of 62.1% in the first nine months of 2005 and guests spent 6.1% more nights in hotels than in the same period last year. In January-September 2004, Hungarian hotels had an average occupancy rate of 62%, while the September occupancy rate stood at 72%. The gross average room rate was Ft 16,895 in September, up from Ft 15,262 a year earlier. Gross revenue per available room (RevPAR) was Ft 12,771 in September, 2.5% more than a year earlier. In January-September, the gross average room rate was Ft 15,166 and RevPAR was Ft 9,422.
