Gyula castle opens to public today

The reconstruction of the 600-year-old castle of Gyula, southeastern Hungary, has been completed. Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány will open the newly reconstructed castle and museum today. The town?s senior officials will also sign an agreement in the presence of Ferenc Gyurcsány and István Kolber minister without portfolio in charge of regional development concerning the rehabilitation of the historic quarter of Gyula. The town won Ft 990 million in subsidies for the Ft 1 billion project from the funds of the Regional Operative Program (ROP). ROP is part of the National Development Plan and one of its priorities is to improve the potential of tourism.
The National Bank of Hungaryʼs Monetary Council decided to keep the central bankʼs key rate on hold at 0.9% at a monthly policy meeting today. The council also left the overnight central bank deposit rate at -0.15% and the O/N collateralized loan rate at 0.9%.
